What rubbish can you remove?
We can remove most waste types found at a domestic or commercial property, as long as it is safe to do so.
Whilst this list is not definitive, we can remove the following:
- Bulky waste (e.g. sofas, beds, tables, desks etc.)
- Electrical waste (WEEE)
- Hazardous waste (e.g. fluorescent tubes, fridges, freezers, televisions, computer monitors etc.)
- Bin bags, sacks and black bags from homes and commercial premises
- Garden waste (including garden furniture)
There are some prohibited waste types that we cannot remove due to health and safety or compliance. These include:
- Raw food and meat such as category 3 ABP waste
- Licensed and unlicensed asbestos
- Working around needles and sharps
- Chemicals and solvents including most paints
However, if you contact us, we may be able to help and provide a bespoke solution for you.
We operate rubbish removal services all around the UK, from the northern town of Scotland to the southernmost tip of England, Wales, and Cornwall. As long as we can easily access your property, we can help you. Feel free to get in touch if you are unsure whether we can visit your property.
There is no need to put it all in one location. We’re happy to collect your rubbish from multiple locations on your premises, whether it be inside, upstairs or outside – as long as it is safe to access.
It can be helpful when the waste is clearly separated or in one place for our team to collect, as this will make sure we are providing you with an accurate quote and ensure we clear all waste from your premises. This is particularly useful if you are not available and someone else is showing us what to remove from your property.
We only ask for your waste to be left outside your property if you’re not going to be in. For example, you may want to move it outside to somewhere more accessible, such as by your standard waste bins collected by the council.
We cannot remove rubbish from locations where there is a health and safety risk to our team. This may include:
- Removing waste from attics or lofts – please ensure your rubbish is located somewhere else on your property, such as anywhere else accessible indoors or in the garden
- Accessing steep, unstable or damaged steps / staircases
- Where there is parking / access issues which makes it difficult to access your rubbish
- Particularly remote locations which are hard to find / reach in our waste removal vans
Your waste does not need to be bagged. We are more than happy to gather it all up from your address on your behalf. However, if your waste is deposited all over your property in varying quantities, you may want to consider bagging the waste up to ensure we give you an accurate quote and no waste is left behind.
We charge a call out fee to secure the booking. This price is taken off what we charge for the waste we are collecting at the time of collection.
If there is extra waste, we will re-quote and take an extra payment on the day, or we can collect just what was originally booked in – it’s up to you. We’re usually able to collect more rubbish on the day so if you do have some more items to add, we are more than happy to get it cleared for you.
If you have prepaid for a collection and we end up collecting less, don’t worry. You will receive a refund for the difference within 5 working days.
Our prices are all fixed based on the amount of waste we collect. We offer fixed prices for specific collections types, such as sofa removal, which are usually prepaid as the final cost is known, unlike when we are collecting all kinds of waste from your property.
We offer 4 different time slots dependent on the type of rubbish you would like us to collect and where you are based. These are: all day, morning, afternoon or 2-hour time slots.
Please note: There can be some variation to timings on the day as sometimes jobs can end up taking a little longer than expected, or traffic can cause problems. We will keep you updated via text, phone call and/or email if we will be late, and give you the option to rebook (free of charge) if we are running particularly behind time and you cannot wait for us.
Bookings can be changed and updated whenever you like, and we can usually accommodate most changes – free of charge. If you booked online, you can do this easily by logging back into your account on our website. You can also call or email us to make an amendment to your booking – whichever is easiest for you.
Bookings can usually be cancelled anytime up until the day of the rubbish collection. Upon cancellation we will issue you a refund which can take up to 5 working days. If you fail to cancel a booking before your scheduled appointment, we reserve the right to withhold your call out fee. This will be calculated on a case-by-case basis.
You don’t need to be at the property in order for us to collect your rubbish. However, you must have prepaid for your waste or be immediately contactable, just in case there are any problems.
If you are not going to be in it is important the waste is very clearly identifiable and, where possible, we would recommend a photo is sent to us in advance showing us the location and scale of the rubbish we will be collecting. We also advise that there is someone available on the day to ensure that the correct waste is removed – this may be a friend, family member or neighbour.
Please remember if we cannot contact you for payment or if the scope of the collection is not clear, the removal of your rubbish may not take place and extra charges may apply if we need to re-attend.
You (the customer) are responsible for ensuring we have somewhere safe and reasonable to park when collecting your rubbish. It does not have to be off-road, but if we do need to park on the road and have to pay for parking, we will ask the customer to cover this fee.
Please beware that we may issue extra charges if there are any issues, such as:
- Parking restrictions preventing easy access to your property, causing the team to park further away
- High rise building with a lift unavailable for removal on larger collections
- High security access control preventing easy access through the building
- Waste located in a field or some way away from the road
Once we arrive at your premises, we will assess the waste we are collecting from you. If the collection is not a fixed price (such as a sofa removal), we will confirm the final cost with you. We can clear as much or as little waste as you like, so if there is extra waste, we will quote the difference. If you are happy, we will remove your waste in no time.
We can clear most waste – more or less that your original estimate – so this isn’t a problem for us. As long as you are satisfied with the final revised cost of removing your rubbish, this won’t cause any problems with the clearance. Our team is happy to clear as much waste as you like.
If there is an additional payment due on the day, we will take payment at the start of the job by credit or debit card. We do not take any cash and you should never be asked for cash by our teams. We take all major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express and there are no extra charges for this. (Rest assured; no card details are saved anywhere).
We do this to ensure there are no extra costs incurred if there are issues or delays with payment.
Once we collect your waste, it will be sifted through at our local waste transfer stations to aid the sorting and storing of materials before they are moved on to larger sites for disposal or treatment. We guarantee that we will recycle any of your waste where possible, so you can sleep with peace of mind that your waste will never be fly-tipped or sent straight to landfill. In fact, we aim to recycle at least 95% of your waste, where possible to do so.
When carrying out any service, we send over any compliance documents as soon as we leave your premises, as well as keeping a full log of the movement of your rubbish, to give you peace of mind about where your rubbish ends its journey.
